A Meta Analysis on Variables Related to Suppression of Depression of In-Home Elderly

Abstract
In this study, effect size of variables that suppress depression of the in-home elderly, through meta analysis, are scrutinize based previous studies related to depression of the in-home elderly for the duration of approximately ten year from January 2001 to March 2013 and through regression analysis, the trend was examined in accordance with the time of research (a fist half and a second half of 2005). The outcome of the analysis shows as follows£ºas to effect size per each variable group, all the variables groups possess statistically significant effect. Of these groups, psychological variables group and family variable group have large effect size and the rest of the variables group has medium effect size. Health promotion behaviors and sleep patterns, the sub constructs of physical variable group turned out to have large effect size; perceived health state showed medium effect size. Self-integration, life satisfaction, and self-esteem, the sub constructs of psychological variable group, turned out to possess large effect size. Family support, the sub construct of the family variable group, turned out to have large effect size. Social support and leisure activities, the sub constructs of social variable group, turned out to have large effect size. The outcomes of the regression analysis of the time of research (a fist half and a second half of 2005) showed statistically insignificant difference.
